1. Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains how information may be handled when you visit USA24, use its reading features, interact with advertisements or contact the publication. USA24 is published by Zed LLC. Privacy enquiries can be sent to [email protected].
This policy covers the USA24 website. It does not replace the privacy notices of websites, email providers, advertising services or video platforms that you choose to use through a link or embedded feature. Those providers may process information under their own policies. The availability of a privacy right can depend on your location, the information involved and the law that applies.
2. Information involved in a website visit
Delivering a web page normally involves information such as an IP address, the requested address, the time of the request, browser and device information, and technical connection details. Hosting and security providers may process this information to deliver pages, keep services available, detect abuse and investigate technical problems.
USA24 is hosted using Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process request information and maintain service or security logs according to its own arrangements. Its privacy information is available at Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy. This website does not ask your browser for GPS permission or precise device location.
3. Information you choose to send
If you email the publication, your email address, message content, any article links and attachments, and related correspondence will be available to the recipient and the email services used to deliver the message. Share only the information needed for your enquiry. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details, identity documents or other sensitive information in routine feedback.
The contact and corrections pages include a draft-writing tool. Text entered there is prepared in your browser and is not submitted to a website message server. Downloading a draft saves a file on your device. Choosing Open email draft passes the draft to your email application; you must send it there. Your email provider’s privacy terms apply to that service.
4. Why information may be processed
Information associated with using the website may be processed to deliver and secure the publication, remember advertising preferences, determine which consent choices to present, display advertisements, investigate technical faults, prevent misuse and respond to messages you send.
We do not require a reader account or a subscription payment to read the current website. The website does not operate a public comment-upload service or an account profile system. If a new feature changes how information is collected or used, the relevant notice and, where appropriate, choices should be updated before that feature is introduced.
5. Cookies and browser storage
Cookies and similar technologies can store or retrieve information through your browser. Local storage can persist between visits, while session storage is generally associated with a browsing tab or session. The website uses local storage to remember its advertising preference and session storage to cache a coarse consent-policy result for up to 15 minutes.
These first-party settings help the website apply the choice you made. They do not contain a message draft, a precise location record or a raw IP address saved by the advertising-choice code. Advertising and embedded-media providers may use their own cookies, identifiers or similar technologies when their services load. Those technologies are separate from the first-party preference settings.
6. Advertising partners and related information
The website currently uses Adsterra display and native advertising. When an advertisement or advertising script loads, the relevant provider may receive information such as an IP address, browser and device details, page or referral information and advertising identifiers. Providers may use cookies, pixels or similar technologies for ad delivery, measurement, security and other purposes described in their privacy notices.
Third parties may place or read cookies in your browser, or use web beacons and IP addresses to collect information as a result of advertising on the website. Please review Adsterra’s Privacy Policy for its practices and available choices. The way an advertising partner processes information is not limited to the first-party settings described in this policy.
7. Region-based advertising choices
Cloudflare supplies an approximate country for a first-party advertising-policy check. Under the website’s current configuration, visitors identified as being in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland are asked to opt in before advertising scripts load. An unknown location or an unsuccessful region check also requires a choice before those scripts load.
For other detected regions, advertising may load automatically unless a visitor has previously declined or the browser sends a privacy signal recognised by the ad loader. Country detection is approximate and can be affected by VPNs, proxies and network routing. A region result is not a determination of residence, nationality or every privacy law that may apply.
8. Managing or changing your choice
Use Privacy & ad choices in the website footer to review or change your advertising preference. The preference is stored in the current browser. Clearing site data, using another browser or changing devices may mean that a previous choice is no longer available.
The current ad loader also checks Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals and prevents its ad loading when those recognised signals are present. This describes the website’s own loader; it is not a promise that every third-party service treats all browser signals in the same way.
Declining prevents further ad loading through this mechanism and may reload the page if advertising has already loaded. Changing a preference does not undo a previous disclosure to a provider or automatically remove its cookies. You may also use your browser’s cookie and site-data controls, although blocking storage can affect the way preferences or external features work.
9. Videos, social links and other websites
An embedded video loads after its play control is selected. The video provider may then receive connection and device information and use its own storage or tracking technologies. A link to a video, source article, social-sharing service or advertiser takes you to a service governed by that provider’s terms.
Social-sharing controls open the selected external service. If you are signed in to that service, it may associate your interaction with your account. Review the provider’s settings and privacy information before sharing or interacting. USA24 does not control the operation, cookies or retention practices of those external services.
10. Retention, service providers and international processing
How long information remains available depends on its purpose and the service involved. Browser preferences remain until changed, cleared or otherwise removed by the browser. A downloaded message draft remains on your device until you remove it. Email correspondence and provider logs are subject to the relevant mailbox, hosting or service arrangements and applicable requirements.
Providers and recipients may process information in countries other than the country where you read the website. Different countries may have different data-protection rules. This policy does not claim a particular international-transfer agreement or automatic deletion schedule for an external provider. Contact the relevant provider or the publication if you need information about a specific record or service.
11. Privacy enquiries and applicable rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access to personal information, correction or deletion, to object to or restrict certain processing, or to withdraw consent where processing relies on it. A right is not necessarily available in every circumstance, and a request may require enough information to identify the relevant record and protect another person’s information.
Send a request to [email protected] with the subject Privacy request and describe the information or interaction involved. Do not attach unnecessary identity or financial documents. Requests relating to an advertiser, email provider or other external service may also need to be directed to that provider. Where applicable, you may contact your local data-protection authority.
12. Children, security and policy updates
USA24 is a general-audience publication. Its feedback tools are not intended to solicit children’s personal information. If you believe that a child has sent personal information to the publication, contact the public email address with sufficient details to identify the concern.
No website, email service or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Take care with information you choose to send and use appropriate security settings on your device and email account. This policy may be updated as services, choices or applicable requirements change. Check the last-updated date on this page when reviewing the policy.
